Re-Do, Re-Dont?

I decided to do a re shoot of the perfume I did earlier and at some point I think that I snapped a little and went crazy with edits. Thought it would be funny to post on here so here you go haha.

Self Promo 5

For one of my last self promos I decided to do an alcoholic beverage. I think that this shoot quickly became to be about the celery instead of the drink but I still really like it.

Panoramic

Our latest project for one of my classes was a panoramic so I drove up to the highest level of a parking garage in Greensboro and took this. 

Dozen Eggs

Our latest client assignment. We had to take a photo any photo as long as it had a dozen eggs in it. The catch was it had to be a square image, which I didn't realize at the time I was shooting it so I had to do a strange crop on it but I guess it came out okay. I like it more than most of the other client assignments I have turned in.

We had an assignment where we had to create a book cover around that quote.

I went with the "lets all get together and make the earth a greener place"

Perfumania

We had an assignment where we had to find an ad in a magazine or online with a lighting technique that we thought we could duplicate. I chose a Coach perfume ad and tried to recreate it on this bottle.

Promo 4

This is my first attempt at using a lens baby. I think it was an epic fail to say the least. I mean I like it but it could have been better. It was a delicious cupcake though.

Promo 3

This is the roughest draft possible for my latest self promo. After some editing I hope it looks as amazing as it does in my head.

Panoramic

This is something we did in class today, its a 360 panoramic. This was my first experience with it and I like it a lot I can't wait to get out there and shoot another one except with a lot of beautiful clouds.

Citrus

This is my second self promo shot. I was originally going to go with vegetables but as I was shopping for the produce I came across these starfruit and changed my concept entirely. What can I say I was inspired.

Peppers, Peppers and Peppers

We had our first and second self promo due in class toady for critique and this is one of mine. I guess I was going for that before and after effect. Here are the peppers before they are pickled in vinegar and put behind the real peppers. I honestly am going to reshoot this probably I am not happy with it in the slightest.

Messin' Around

This was just something that I was messing with over break, it was about 2 AM and I was using my flash to get this effect, I really liked it so I decided to post it.

Vegetables!

This is a preview of my vegetable shoot for my client #1 project. I took another look at the instructions and am not sure if it is actually what my instructor is looking for so I might have to reshoot it but I like it anyways.

Uncle Sam

This fine Sirs name is Mike and I was creeping him hard at the baseball game. I used this one for the Americana Weekly assignment.

Americana

This is my Americana shot for my baseball assignment we had to shoot. I do believe that this screams Americana.

Americas Past Time

I was really excited to get a shot of baseball that was actually pretty good. I must have shot over a hundred shots in the hour I was there. I think this one is decent enough.

Fabric

This is one of the studio shots of my fabric assignment, I used one of the 12 pillows I have on my couches. I like the difference between the highlight and shadow areas.

Playing with Light

This is my dapper man that I created with light for our last weekly. I did a ton of painting with light and this isn't the one I chose but I liked it enough to put on here.

Ohhhhh Possum

Last night my step mother told my dad to hurry outside. I scuttled over there and saw this little baby opossum. My dad goes to shoo it away and i was like "NOOOOOOOOOOO LET ME GET MY CAMERA!" So I went and got my camera and took about thirty pictures of him and these are the two that I liked the best. I actually pet the thing and it hissed at me but it was still cute. I got too close and it ran all the way across the deck.

Object Lighting

Get to school this morning and my teacher just yells at us to grab a can and gogogogogo shoot so we got in our groups and fled. This is the final project that we came up with I like the depth of field and the water droplets on the can. We tried haha. Not a ton of editing just cropping mostly. Well there you go kids, lighting a can.

ABC's And What Not

In lab the other day we were assigned to go out and shoot every letter of the alphabet and then we had to go in photoshop and put them into a 10x8 or 8x10 canvas. Not as easy as it looks kids. It was stressful haha and we have another one due in less than a week with naturally occurring letters in nature and stuff haha. Well I guess I should start that!

A Photo A Day

So Im trying to post a picture on my blog every day and I know that its going to get tough but Im going to try any ways. This is a rusty 'ole fence that was covering a window when my two friends and I went on a photo safari. In all honesty Im not good at lightroom or photoshop but I decided to mess around. I uploaded all of the pictures I took that day into a catalogue in lightroom and just messed around with a few of them and I liked this one the best so I decided to post it. Im so exhausted from my first week of summer school for photography I can't see straight haha. I hope who ever decides to follow my blog enjoys the stuff that I post. Oh well, until tomorrow.

Self Promo Shot

This boys and girls is an assignment I got today. It was a self promo shot and we had to set the cameras timer and make up the composition and everything. It was annoying haha. One i don't really like pictures of myself, much less ones that I have to take personally. I really want to get a 50mm lens, off subject but thats okay! I guess I'm getting into the groove of this summer photo school thing. I don't really have a choice though haha. Failure is not an option. I hope that I'm getting better at this blogging thing. Sad Day and Rule of Thirds

Im having a really rough day today. We got our first project for our digital class and I failed to turn mine in. It was a rule of thirds project so we had to capture three different photographs and then put them together with layers on photoshop. I came home to my apartment and took pictures of my LokiBear (duhh) and then some of his food and his toy then rushed back to school to get it finished. Well i go to town working on it and I realize the time and start freaking out so I save my image and go to turn it in...cant find the picture. Had to save it again and i go to turn it in right as the clock stikes 12 and the submission form was closed. *sigh* Needless to say that I had an emotional break down that I just got a zero on my first project and no one even got to see it so I am posting it on here. I hope who ever sees it enjoys it as much as I do.

Im New Here

Hello gorgeous peoples my name is Chelsea Raye Strickland and this is my blog where I am going to share my thoughts and photos. I try to find beauty in everything that  I see everyday. For example, today at the coffee shop with the beautiful barista boy ;). Seriously though haha, I hope that I get better at this blogging thing I have never tried it before and for a little but my posts are probably going to be silly. OH YEA and I have a dog and his name is Loki and you will probably see him a lot on here. That is my precious Loki Bear. I just got this Macbook computer so I don't have a lot of photos on here sadly. More to come soon!
